Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the StoryVideo mobile application (the "App"), published by Atul Vasudev A ("we", "us", or "our"), handles information when you use it. StoryVideo turns text you write into short AI-generated videos. By using the App you agree to the practices described below.

1. Information we collect

• Account information. When you sign in, we collect basic account details such as your email address and a user identifier through our authentication provider (Firebase Authentication, including Google Sign-In).
• Content you write. The stories you paste or type, the scene prompts you edit, the descriptions you write for your reference images, and the settings you choose for each video.
• Photos and images you choose. If you add reference images to a story, the App copies each image you select from your device into its own storage at a reduced size and uploads it to our servers, where it is kept in your personal reference library so you can reuse it in later stories. These images are sent to our video-generation infrastructure as input for your video. We do not scan your photo library — the App only receives the specific images you pick using your device's own picker.
• Camera (optional). If you use the "scan" feature to import printed text, the App opens your camera and saves the photo to its private cache on your device. Text is extracted on your device; the photo itself is never uploaded to us or to any third party, and it is removed when the App's cache is cleared or the App is uninstalled. Camera permission is requested only at the moment you use this feature, and the rest of the App works without it.
• Voice input (optional). If you dictate a story instead of typing it, the App hands off to your device's built-in speech recognition, which is provided by your device or its operating system vendor and processed under that vendor's privacy policy. We receive only the resulting text.
• Generated content. The scene prompts, character reference images and video clips produced for you, along with related project data, so you can come back to them across sessions and devices.
• Content reports. If you report generated content as offensive, we store the reason you selected, any details you write, and a reference to the reported content and to your account, so that we can review it and act on it.
• Notification token. A push-notification token for your device, so we can tell you when a video has finished generating. You can decline or revoke notification permission at any time.
• Advertising data. The App shows rewarded and native ads. Our advertising partner collects your device's advertising ID, IP address, device and app information, and your interactions with ads, in order to serve and measure them. See section 4.
• Usage & diagnostic data. Analytics and crash data that help us understand app performance and fix problems, including a device advertising or installation identifier.
• Device integrity signals. To prevent abuse of our generation service, the App verifies that requests come from a genuine installation using Google Play Integrity via Firebase App Check.
• Purchase information. If you buy credits, the transaction is handled by Google Play. We receive confirmation of the purchase and your credit balance, but not your full payment card details.

2. How we use your information

• To generate videos from the stories, prompts and reference images you provide.
• To keep your stories, reference library and generated videos available to you.
• To notify you when a generation job finishes.
• To operate, maintain, and improve the App.
• To manage your account, credits, and purchases.
• To screen submissions for prohibited content, review reports, and enforce our Terms of Use.
• To diagnose issues, prevent abuse and fraud, and keep the service secure.
• To show and measure advertising.

3. AI generation, and how your content is processed

Videos in StoryVideo are produced by generative AI models. To make one, your content is processed as follows:

• Splitting your story into scenes. Your story text is sent to Google's Gemini models through Firebase AI Logic, which returns the scene prompts you then review and edit.
• Generating video and character images. Your scene prompts and any reference images are sent to our video-generation infrastructure, which runs AI models to produce the clips and character reference images.
• Automated content screening. Text you submit is checked against our content rules before it is sent, and submitted images and generated results are screened automatically. Content that appears to breach our rules is refused and the request is not generated.
• Stitching. Combining your clips into the final video happens on your device.

Generated results are labelled as AI-generated inside the App and in the text suggested when you share them. If any generated result is offensive, you can report it from within the App — from a story, from the video player, or from an individual clip — without leaving the App. We review reports and use them to improve our filtering.

4. Advertising and your advertising ID

The App displays ads, including rewarded video ads you can choose to watch to earn credits, and native ads in the app's lists. Advertising is delivered by InMobi, which acts as an independent controller of the data it collects for this purpose, including your device's advertising ID (the App declares the AD_ID permission for this reason), IP address, device characteristics, and ad interactions. This data may be used for ad delivery, frequency capping, measurement and personalisation under InMobi's own privacy policy.

You can reset or delete your advertising ID, and opt out of ad personalisation, in your device settings (on Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads). Watching a rewarded ad is always your choice; credits can also be purchased instead.

5. Third-party services

The App relies on the following services, which may process data on our behalf or, where noted, for their own purposes:

• Google Firebase — authentication, database (Firestore), file storage, cloud messaging, analytics, and app integrity (App Check with Play Integrity).
• Firebase AI Logic with Google Gemini — splitting your story into scene prompts.
• Our video-generation infrastructure and the AI models it runs — producing your video clips and character reference images from your prompts and reference images.
• Google Play Billing — credit purchases.
• InMobi — advertising, as described in section 4.
• Your device's speech recognition — only if you use voice input.

These providers process data under their own privacy policies, and may store or process it in countries other than the one you live in, including the United States.

6. Data retention

We retain your account, stories, reference library and generated videos for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Reference images stay in your library until you remove them there or delete your account, because a single image can be reused across several stories. Camera scans stay only in the App's private cache on your device. Records of content reports and enforcement action are retained for as long as needed for safety and abuse prevention, and may outlive the account they relate to. Diagnostic and analytics data is retained on our providers' standard schedules.

7. Deleting your data and your account

You can permanently delete your account and associated data at any time directly from within the App — no email request is required. This removes your account, your stories and scene prompts, your generated videos, your uploaded reference images, and your remaining credit balance. If you cannot access the App, you can request deletion by contacting us at the address in section 12 and we will process it for you. As noted in section 6, safety and abuse-prevention records may be kept, as may records we are required by law to retain.

8. Children's privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. The App generates AI content and shows advertising, and is intended for a general adult audience. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

Your content is stored in access-controlled Google Cloud infrastructure, and requests to our generation service are attested with Firebase App Check. Your stories, reference images and videos are stored under your own account and are not visible to other users of the App. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

10. Your choices and rights

• You can delete your data and account at any time from within the App, and stop all collection by uninstalling it.
• Camera, notification and voice-input access are each optional, requested only when used, and revocable in your device settings.
• You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of ad personalisation in your device settings.
• Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, or to object to certain processing. Contact us and we will respond.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
